We Believe: The Five Solas
The Five Solas summarize the core biblical convictions of the Christian faith, emphasizing the supremacy of God’s Word and the sufficiency of Christ’s saving work. These foundational truths guide our doctrine, worship, and daily walk with the Lord.
1. Sola Scriptura — Scripture Alone
We believe that the Holy Bible is the sole, highest, and final authority for Christian faith, doctrine, and practice. God’s Word stands above all human traditions, opinions, and leaders.
“All Scripture is God-breathed…” (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. Sola Gratia — Grace Alone
We believe that salvation is a free and unearned gift from God. It is entirely the result of His grace, not something achieved through human effort or merit.
“For it is by grace you have been saved…” (Ephesians 2:8)
3. Sola Fide — Faith Alone
We believe that justification—being made right with God—is received through faith alone in Jesus Christ. It is not based on good works but on trusting in His finished work on the cross.
“The righteous shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)
4. Solus Christus — Christ Alone
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and humanity. Salvation is found in Him alone, through His life, death, and resurrection.
“There is one mediator… Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)
5. Soli Deo Gloria — Glory to God Alone
We believe that the ultimate purpose of all life is to glorify God alone. Every aspect of salvation and daily living exists for His honor, not for human recognition.
“To Him be the glory forever.” (Romans 11:36)
Our Foundation
These doctrines emerged as a response to errors within the church during the 16th century, calling believers back to the pure and unchanging message of the Gospel. They remain a clear declaration that salvation is entirely the work of God—from beginning to end—for His glory alone.
